Privacy

Privacy policy for visitors, members, and marketplace participants.

TurkDutch Marketplace is built to support trusted Dutch-Turkish business connections without turning user data into a product. We collect only the information needed to operate the platform, moderate public profiles and listings, and route legitimate contact and inquiry flows.

Key commitments

  • We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own advertising, profiling, or marketing.
  • We limit third-party access. When we use service providers, they process data only to host, authenticate, store, secure, or deliver the service on our behalf.
  • We separate public and private information. Approved company profiles and listings are public by design; private inquiries, contact requests, drafts, and account records are treated as confidential.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to TurkDutch Marketplace and the personal information processed through this website, including when you browse public pages, create an account, manage an organization profile, publish or save listings, send inquiries, or submit a contact request.

It covers visitors, registered members, organization owners, listing creators, inquiry senders, and people who contact us through the platform.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and identity details: full name, work email address, organization name, and authentication data needed to create and secure an account.
  • Organization and listing details: company profile information, summaries, descriptions, expertise, locations, contact details, listing content, and media that members choose to submit.
  • Communication records: inquiry messages, sender names and email addresses, contact form submissions, and related moderation or support records.
  • Technical and security data: essential session cookies and routine infrastructure, authentication, and email delivery logs generated to keep the service available and secure.

3. How we use information

  • To create, authenticate, and protect member accounts.
  • To review, publish, and maintain organization profiles and marketplace listings.
  • To route inquiries to the organization a user chooses to contact and to send contact requests to our inbox.
  • To prevent abuse, investigate suspicious activity, maintain platform integrity, and enforce marketplace rules.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to valid requests from regulators, courts, or law enforcement.

4. What is public and what remains confidential

  • Public information: approved organization profiles and approved listings, including business details you intentionally publish for discovery and collaboration.
  • Confidential information: account records, draft content, moderation notes, non-public contact requests, private inquiry messages, and internal operational records.
  • Direct disclosures you initiate: when you submit an inquiry, your name, email address, and message are shared with the recipient organization so it can respond to you.

5. No sale of data and limited third-party sharing

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We also do not share personal data for third-party behavioral advertising.
  • We may use carefully selected processors to host the site, manage authentication, store application data, send transactional email, and protect the platform. Those providers may process data only as needed to perform those functions for us.
  • We may disclose information when a user asks us to route it, when disclosure is required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the platform, or the public from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
  • We do not grant third parties a general right to mine platform data, build marketing profiles from it, or reuse it for unrelated commercial purposes.

6. Cookies, sessions, and tracking

  • We currently use essential cookies and similar mechanisms needed for sign-in, session continuity, and security.
  • We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers or sell cookie-based browsing data.
  • If the platform later adds optional analytics or non-essential tracking, this policy should be updated before those tools are used.

7. Retention, deletion, and your rights

  • We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the platform, maintain records, resolve disputes, and comply with law.
  • Public profiles and listings may remain visible until edited, archived, or removed by the organization or by platform moderation.
  • You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information that is not required for ongoing legal, security, or record-keeping purposes.
  • Deletion of public content may not remove cached copies immediately, but we will work to remove active platform access where appropriate.

8. Security and confidentiality

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect non-public data. Access to confidential data should be limited to people and processors who need it to operate, support, or secure the service.

No internet-based system can promise absolute security. If we identify a material issue that affects the confidentiality or integrity of personal data, we should respond in a manner consistent with applicable law and the seriousness of the incident.

9. Questions and policy updates

We may revise this policy as the platform evolves, especially if we add new features, processors, or legal requirements. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.

Privacy questions, corrections, and deletion requests can be sent to hello@turkdutch.com.
